The velt bot’s privacy notice
Last updated 9 October 2026
The short version
The velt bot keeps what its modules need to work in a server: settings, moderation cases, levels, balances and the like. It does not store what people write in chat. Everything about a server is deleted 30 days after the bot is removed from it. It has no ads, sells nothing, and sends nothing to any AI service.
Who is responsible
The same operator as velt.lol, reachable at hello@velt.lol. The details are in the imprint.
What it keeps about a server
- Its settings: which modules are on, staff and admin roles, log channels, welcome messages, role menus, level and economy settings, and the like.
- How often each command was used, per server and per day. Not who used it.
- The server’s name, icon and member count, to show in settings.
What it keeps about members
- Discord account numbers, attached to what follows. Never messages.
- Moderation: cases (who, by whom, the reason given, how long, and both usernames as they were at the time, so a case still reads right after a name change), notes staff wrote, and automod strikes, which are deleted a week after they expire.
- Levels: experience, level and how many messages counted towards it.
- Economy: balances in the server’s own currency.
- Giveaways: who entered. Tickets: who opened them and the address of the transcript the server keeps.
- Reminders you set, until they are delivered. Your away message while you are away. Saved replies staff wrote.
What it does not keep
Messages. To log a deleted or edited message in a server that asked for that, the bot holds recent messages in memory for at most fifteen minutes and posts the log only to that server’s own log channel. A server can leave the words out of its logs altogether with /config log-text. Nothing anyone writes is written to velt’s database.
velt.lol accounts
If you connected Discord to a velt.lol page, the bot reads that connection to give the roles velt’s own server offers, and to show your card with /velt card. Somebody else can bring up your card outside velt’s own server only if you switched that on in your account settings; it is off until you do.
Who else sees it
- Discord, which delivers everything the bot sends and receives.
- Hetzner Online GmbH, Germany: the server the bot runs on.
- The staff of each server, who see what the bot does there, in the server, as Discord shows it.
How long it is kept
- While the bot is in the server.
- Everything about a server, its members’ levels, balances and cases included, is deleted 30 days after the bot is removed. Added back within those 30 days, the server finds everything where it was.
What you can ask for
You can ask what the bot keeps about your Discord account, and ask for it to be corrected or deleted, by writing to hello@velt.lol with your Discord account number. A server owner can have everything about their server deleted the same way, or simply remove the bot. You can also complain to a data protection authority.
