Community rules

Why these exist
Profile hosts with file uploads attract a particular kind of misuse: pages built to humiliate somebody, links disguised to collect information about whoever clicks, files that are not what their name says. Several services in this space became known for exactly that, and it is why school networks and link scanners block whole domains.
These rules are the price of being a place people can link to from anywhere. They are enforced.
Never, under any circumstances
- Sexual content involving anyone under 18, including drawings and generated images. Accounts are removed and reports go to the authorities, with the content and its records preserved for them.
- Intimate images of a person who did not agree to them being shared.
- Personal information about someone else: home address, phone number, employer, school, identity documents, or anything assembled to help people find them.
- Threats of violence, or content encouraging harm to a person or a group.
Not allowed
- Pages made to mock, target, or follow a specific person.
- Impersonating someone, whether by handle, avatar, or page content.
- Malware, phishing pages, and links dressed up to look like a different destination.
- Content you do not hold the rights to.
- Inflating your own numbers, or using services that offer to do it. This is the one dishonesty the whole platform is built to avoid.
- Using the file host as general storage or as a backup target. It is for things you are sharing.
- Automated account creation, and stockpiling handles you do not intend to use.
Allowed, with a switch
Adult content between consenting adults is allowed if the page is marked as such, so that people choose before they see it. If your page is unmarked and its content is adult, it gets marked for you.
What happens
Most problems end with a note and a removal. Repeated breaches end the account. Child safety and non-consensual intimate imagery skip every step: immediate removal, the account closed, and a report filed.
When we remove something you will be told what and why, and you can reply. Nobody is removed by an automated decision alone on anything that matters.
Invites are attached to you
We record who invited whom. If an account is created to cause harm, the trail is followed, and somebody who repeatedly invites people who do harm loses the ability to invite. This is the main reason the service is invite only while it is small.
Telling us
Every page and every uploaded file has a report link, and you do not need an account to use it. Urgent safety matters go to abuse@velt.lol. Copyright has its own process.
