Discord timestamp generator
Pick a date and time and copy the code. Discord shows it to every reader in their own time zone and language, so a stream at 20:00 means the same moment for everyone.
How to use it
- 1Choose the date and time, in your own time zone.
- 2Pick how it should look: a short time, a full date, or a countdown like "in 3 hours".
- 3Copy the code and paste it into a message, an event or a channel topic.
Questions
- How do Discord timestamps work?
- A code like <t:1700000000:R> holds a moment as a Unix timestamp, the number of seconds since 1 January 1970 in UTC. Discord turns it into a date in each reader’s own time zone and language when it shows the message.
- What does each letter mean?
- t is a short time, T a long time, d a short date, D a long date, f a date and time, F the day, date and time, and R a relative time like "in 2 hours". Without a letter Discord uses f.
- Does the relative time update?
- Yes. The R style counts up or down while the message is on screen.
- Can I use it in an embed?
- Yes, in an embed’s description and field values, but not in its title.
